I have delved in to many artistic mediums from pottery to paint, but my deepest satisfaction and sustained joy has been in the area of fibre, specifically rug hooking, where utility and beauty so happily coexist. Mytechnique is "East Coast Primitive" and my personal style is often boldly non-traditional!
Bold colours and sweeping, swirling forms as opposed to the muted colour and predictable imagery of traditional rug hooking are my trademark. For the past seven years my work has hung in the Riverguild Gallery in Perth, and has been featured in travelling exhibitions, museums, competitions and galleries across Canada.
It is my deepest dedication to the re-use and re-cycle aspects of primitive rug hooking that keep me "hooked" on this medium. Such creative expression without the waste makes me a very happy hooker!
